Prototype Vehicles

Recipe and picture by Eddie Kossa

These are some prototype ships printed using a Z Corp 3D printer. It's a great printer but it requires a 3D model. Basically it spreads a .030" layer of powder and then binder in the shape of the image. It repeats this step a couple of thousand times as it works from the bottom of the model to the top. As you can imagine, the print job takes about 20 to 30 hours to complete. These ships are a better scale than most of the toys, but the colors depend on what ever print binder is in the machine. The only problem with the models is they are fragile in nature and can break pretty easily.
