Detailed Vintage Luke Stormtrooper
with customized helmet

The 1985 POTF Luke Stormtrooper is by far my favorite Star Wars figure. In fact, it's the figure that got me started up again in 1994. The above pictures show how I used some detailing to make the figure a little better. First, I painted fine black lines along the armor seams on the body. Next, I cut electrical tape and put it around Luke's neck to create a turtleneck.

Unfortunately, the mold of the helmet that this figure comes with is a little off. The original helmet is pictured in the left picture. I would say it looks like it's been elongated at the base. I decided to cut the head off a vintage stormtrooper and use that as a helmet. After some filing on the inside of the helmet and applying a detailed paint job, the figure looked much better (pictured at right).
